TheVortex StrikeFire II Red is a budget collimator rifle scope for short to medium range shooting, with a 4 MOA dot and a 30 mm tube that provides a wide field of view.
The Vortex StrikeFire II Red is a proven rifle collimator that stands out for its reliable performance, large range of aiming point adjustment, and long service life of up to 8,000 hours (brightness level 6).
Compared to smaller Sparc or Crossfire collimators, the Strikefire II model has a 30mm diameter tube, which affects a much wider field of view, and allows a powerful range of dot adjustment.
Robust construction
The collimator's one-piece 30mm diameter tube is made of durable aircraft-grade aluminum, which guarantees the design's durability against recoil, mechanical damage and drops.
Thorough sealing and filling the body with dry nitrogen eliminates the problem of optics evaporation, and prevents the entry of moisture, so the sight can be safely used in rain, snowfall and humid environments.
Thealuminum was subjected to the HA-III hard anodizing process, thus creating a black-matte coating with very high scratch and abrasion resistance.
Optical system
The collimator uses lenses with very high light transmission. This was achieved by using multi-layer anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces. A 4 MOA red dot is used for aiming, allowing instant transition between targets.
Thesize of the dot has been adjusted for dynamic shooting at short and medium distances, where instinctive aiming and quick transitions between targets are most important.
The aiming dot has 10 brightness settings, which allows not only to adjust the dot to the lighting conditions, but also to shoot with night vision (the first 2 settings).
The sight, like most collimators on the market, has a marginal parallax error, which does not noticeably affect performance, so in accordance with accepted industry practice, the manufacturer describes the device as "parallax error free."
Large adjustment range, convenient operation
Adjustment of the dot's position is made using two covered reels (1/2 MOA click value), whose adjustment range is as much as 100 MOA vertically and horizontally.
To turn on/off and change the brightness of the dot rubber buttons marked with arrows. The buttons are conveniently located on the left side of the eyepiece, so we can perform all the steps involved in changing settings without taking our eyes off the target.
Long working time
The collimator is powered by a CR2 battery, which provides up to 8,000 hours of operation at setting 6. The collimator owes its long operating time to the use of an automatic switch that turns off the sight after 12 hours.
Mounting
Thekit comes with a "lower 1/3 co-witness" angle mount for a 22mm rail. When installed on an AR-type platform, the dot of the collimator is about above the sighting instruments, and the optical center is 40 mm above the mounting rail.
