Frequently Asked Questions
1️⃣ Are the swords on offer sharp?
Yes, the swords available in our offer are factory sharpened and ready for use. Of course, they are not used for precision cutting, but more for collecting or reconstruction purposes. The steel used in them is also characterized by high strength and non-corrosiveness. An example of a sword model in our range would be the Condor Viking Ironside sword.
2️⃣ What types of swords are most commonly purchased?
European swords, including medieval longswords or hussar sabers, are very popular among historical reenactors and collectors. Growing interest can also be seen in the segment of fantasy swords, inspired by popular movies and games, which are a striking addition to collections or part of cosplay costumes.
3️⃣ Are swords legal to own in Poland?
Yes, possession of swords in Poland is legal. Polish law treats swords as white weapons, the possession of which is allowed, as long as they are not concealed in objects that do not look like weapons, such as umbrellas or sticks with a retractable blade .
4️⃣ How to take care of a decorative or utility sword?
In order for a decorative or utility sword to retain its luster and functionality, regular cleaning of the blade from dust and grease is crucial. Steel blades should be maintained with a thin layer of oil (such as camellia oil) to protect them from corrosion, and especially so for utility swords. The handle and scabbard are also worth keeping clean. Wooden parts can be impregnated from time to time. It is a good idea to store the sword in a dry place and preferably in a suitable scabbard or stand and away from direct sunlight and moisture.
5️⃣ What are replica swords used for?
Replicas of swords are used primarily for collecting and decorative purposes. They are a valuable interior decoration for enthusiasts of history or fantasy worlds. They are also eagerly used in historical reenactments and during martial arts training (e.g. HEMA - Historical European Martial Arts), where they are used to learn techniques without risk of injury. In addition, they are an integral part of cosplay and a prop in film or theater productions.
