3️⃣ Every how much do you need to clean your guns?
The most important rule for cleaning small arms is, of course, the regularity of this process. In the manual of the weapon you will find guidelines on how many shots the gun should be cleaned after, usually manufacturers recommend cleaning the gun after about 1000 shots. Before cleaning the weapon, the magazine should be disengaged, the lock should be pulled back and the cartridge chamber should be visually and manually inspected. After partially disassembling the gun, remove the carbon buildup "dry" with a paper towel, rag or nylon brush. We apply solvent to the key elements of the weapon (barrel and lock), which after several minutes softens the carbon build-up. The greatest attention should be paid to cleaning the barrel tube. Using a string or a scrubber with a brush, we remove the carbon buildup from the barrel (in the direction from the cartridge chamber to the barrel exit). Then we clean the lock and frame of the weapon. Small brushes, ear cleaning sticks and scrapers can be useful, helping to reach all the "nooks and crannies". After cleaning the weapon, lubricate the manufacturer's indicated components and mechanisms with a small amount of grease/oil. An element that should not be forgotten when cleaning the weapon is the magazine, where powder gas residues also accumulate.
1️⃣ What gun cleaning accessories to choose?
To clean the weapon we need cutter with a brush set, a nylon brush, a paper towel or a cloth. Also useful will be felt wipers matched to the caliber of our weapon, the eyelet end of the excisor to attach the cleaner, ear sticks and a soft alloy or plastic scraper. For cleaning long weapons invaluable help is a special stand on which we can stably mount the weapon, which greatly increases the convenience and ease of work. An important accessory that can come in handy for us to disassemble the weapon for cleaning is, of course, pin drifters.
4️⃣ Is WD 40 suitable for cleaning weapons?
Despite its many advantages, WD40 is not a recommended weapon cleaner. The mentioned preparation acts as an aggressive penetrator (remover) to remove rust. However, due to its high viscosity, it tends to catch sand, dust and carbon deposits. For cleaning weapons, it is best to use proven agents, i.e. Ballistol, Brunox, Pro Tech Guns, General Nano and, of course, professional American brand agents Tetra Gun.
2️⃣ What boron cleaning products should I choose?
For the maintenance of weapons we can use universal preparations for weapons with a triple action: cleaning, preserving and lubricating, for example. Tetra Gun Triple Action or specialized agents, e.g. friction-reducing lubricant Tetra Gun Reel Lubricant, barrel tube cleaner Tetra Gun Copper Solvent and Tetra Gun Action Blaster designed for degreasing. Tetra Gun Wood Stock Oil 2 oz / 59 ml is worth using to maintain the wooden parts of the gun.
