The sound suppressor is usually made of aluminum and steel. The silencer takes the form of an elongated cylinder screwed onto the barrel, inside which are chambers and baffles. This gives the gunpowder gases more space to expand, decelerate and lower their temperature, resulting in a reduction in the pressure and noise associated with firing. The suppressor not only quiets the noise of the shot, it is also responsible for reducing recoil, improving shooting comfort and slightly increasing accuracy.
