Frequently Asked Questions
1️⃣ What is a CO2 cartridge?
A CO2 cartridge is a type of cartridge containing compressed carbon dioxide, in the case of military products used to power air rifles and some types of ASG replicas. The most popular type of CO2 cartridges are models containing 12 grams of compressed carbon dioxide, however, we can also find cartridges containing 88 grams of CO2 on the market, designed for replicas with high gas consumption.
2️⃣ Which CO2 cartridge to choose?
The difference between CO2 cartridges from different manufacturers is negligible and, as a rule, the price will determine which model we choose. Kolba military store offers branded cartridges from the renowned manufacturer Umarex, which, with a capacity of about 70 shots, will meet the expectations of any recreational shooter.
3️⃣ Can a co2 cartridge be left in the gun?
Leaving an unempty CO2 cartridge in the gun is not recommended - the compressed gas exerts pressure on system components, resulting in increased wear. On the other hand, if stored for a long time with a capsule, it may spontaneously empty. The exception to this is T4E revolvers and shotguns equipped with a unique system that allows the weapon to be stored with an unpierced capsule ready for use.
4️⃣ How many shots does a co2 cartridge last for?
This is, of course, dependent on the design, however, a CO2 cartridge in a windcheater should be enough to fire about 70 shots. However, it is worth remembering that additional systems, such as, for example, the simulation of the breech recoil - blow back - also use CO2 as a drive, so in such cases the efficiency of the gas cartridge can be significantly reduced.
