Is a permit required for a stun gun? To answer this question, it is necessary to refer to the Law on Arms and Ammunition of May 21, 1999. In Article 4 we find information that objects designed to incapacitate persons by means of electrical energy are considered weapons. However, the law goes on to say that a weapons permit is not required for: "...7) possession of objects intended to incapacitate persons by means of electrical energy with an average current in the circuit not exceeding 10 mA." It is clear from the law that a stun gun with an average current value in the circuit not exceeding 10 mA, can be purchased without a permit.
