Viking Ironside is an interesting replica of the sword of the Viking chieftain Björn Ironside , son of Ragnar Lodbrok. Interestingly, Björn's barrow has survived ten centuries and can still be admired today on Munsö Island. The precision of the reproduction and attention to detail makes any history lover glad to have such a replica in his collection. It is worth mentioning that the sword has a derived and sharpened cutting edge.
The head of the replica was forged from 1075 high-carbon steel, which is quite strong and flexible, but requires care, as 1075 steel does not contain chromium, so it is quite susceptible to corrosion. However, in swords it performs well. The blade was polished and engraved with six Nordic runes.
The handle of the sword was wrapped in leather, thus providing a better grip and comfort.
The sword comes with a matching hardwood scabbard, reinforced with steel fittings.
