Stainless steel construction
Unlike the open frame Colt revolver, Remington's designers created a weapon with a closed construction, which had a huge impact on the strength and reliability of this weapon in the harsh conditions of the Civil War.
The Pedersoli Remington Pattern cal. .44 is a large black-pistol revolver, with a contoured walnut grip, brass breech, and a long 7.5" barrel, which provides high accuracy at short and medium distances. The revolver has a chrome finish that gives it an elegant and refined character. Prior to chrome plating, the barrel, barrel and frame undergo a polishing process to ensure perfect fit of all components. The set includes an extra pair of liners designed to fit the shooter's hand independently.

A number of modifications have been made to the Pattern version that affect the revolver's working culture and enjoyment, including:
- soft smooth-action trigger mechanism,
- beryllium chimneys with a smaller firing channel (to improve the weapon's ballistics),
- exquisitely finished barrel crown,
- polished barrel and cocking,
- profiled match fly,
- a reinforced after-bolt,
- oiled walnut wood facings.
Loading comfort
The revolver has a stainless steel frame and a 7.5" octagonal barrel with a thread pitch: 1:18. The trigger mechanism operates in Single Action mode. Among the undoubted advantages of Remington's design is the ease of removing the barrel. To do this, it is only necessary to pull back the cock to the initial position (for charging), lower the round, and eject the stinger. The whole operation takes a few seconds and allows for convenient charging and, in the situation of having several drums, also for their quick replacement. Once the cock is fully pulled down, the revolver is ready to fire.
