TheSmith&Wesson M629 PC 4" cal. 44 Mag is a magnificent revolver from the Performance Center series, which features a number of solutions to enhance functionality, accuracy and shooting pleasure.
Heavy steel construction
The Smith&Wesson M627 is a heavy, full-size revolver on a large N-type frame made entirely of stainless steel. The PC version features a 4-inch longitudinally fluted barrel, a full barrel (non-fluted) suitable for moon clips loads, a trigger with an idle stop and a chrome-plated cock. The revolver has an SA/DA trigger mechanism and a cocked striker mechanism with an external cock. The barrel is released from the catch by an enlarged lever located on the left side of the frame. From the factory, the revolver is equipped with an adjustable pincer and an interchangeable bow tie with increased visibility. Profiled liners made of hardened rubber are responsible for shooting comfort and gun control.
Revolvers from the Performance Center series are equipped with an additional front barrel latch. This function is performed by a steel ball mounted on a spring, which hits a special cutout in the frame when the drum is closed. The rear part of the drum is locked by an axle, which secures and stabilizes its position.
Performance Center trigger
The revolver is equipped with an idle stop and a modified Performance Center trigger mechanism, which provides smooth and perfectly felt operation in two modes.
The trigger in SA (single action) mode has a short and pronounced play, little resistance and a short idle movement after breaking (firing a shot). Selecting the slack is not accompanied by the rubbery sensation characteristic of revolvers, and breaking the resistance is perfectly felt and clear. Shooting in DA (double action) mode, of course, requires more force, but the trigger action is smooth and very pleasant.
