TheKershaw Kershaw Oblivion 3860 is a futuristic edc knife that uses 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, a blade assist mechanism, carbon fiber-enriched steel liners and a strong frame-lock.
Proven steel
The 90mm long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional blade
Theknife has a symmetrical spear-point profile blade, which has a double finish: sandblasted on the amphibian and stonewashed (abrasive stone bath) on the grind, reducing the visibility of scratches made during use.
Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, a flat gr ind and a gently rounded cutting edge, the knife has very good cutting properties and can successfully serve as a versatile tool for everyday use.
Thethickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the strength and functionality of the knife in everyday work. The element that attracts attention is the custom pin combined with the locking stop plate.
Quick disassembly
The blade can be quickly and easily unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper ( flipper). The symmetrical location of the flipper makes this solution convenient for both right and left-handed users.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper flipper is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Blade lock
An integrated frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The locking bar has a trapezoidal stop made of FRN, which prevents deformation and its excessive outward extension.
The locking bar, like the flipper, can be operated with one hand.
Elegant grip
The stainless steel liners have an austere industrialtrian design, which contrasts strikingly with the decorative FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) liner. There is a hole in the back of the handle that allows you to attach a rope or paracord braid.
Everyday carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a high-set clip, with the possibility of attachment in 2 positions (left/right side).
