TheKershaw Amplitude 3870 is a compact gentleman's folder knife that was created in collaboration with respected designer Todd Rexford.
Proven steel
Theslim 72mm long blade is made from the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Efficient blade
Theknife has a satin-finished blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile, which is ideal for everyday tasks. Cross-cutting frets have been made on the back to allow a stable thumb rest.
The knife owes itsgood cutting properties and excellent penetration to an aggressive hilt, a flat grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve.
Comfort of use
The blade can be instantly unfolded with one hand by means of a milled flipper, just a vigorous press of the flipper and the knife is ready for use. This simple solution is convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allows comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
Robust locking mechanism
A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The lock, like the flipper and peg, can be operated with one hand.
Carry clip
Carrying theknife in your pocket on a daily basis is made possible by a wide steel clip that can be attached in 2 positions.
Simple and stylish
The knife has straight 410 stainless steel facings coated with a wear-resistant PVD (vapor phase coating) that protects against scratches and abrasion. The manufacturer has dispensed with milling and texturing of the handle.
Elements that ensure a stable and secure grip are the gently profiled shape of the liners and the flipper, which, when the blade is unfolded, acts as a hilt.
