The Kershaw Pushrod 1345 is a budget edc folder from the Starter Series, featuring an 8Cr13Mov stainless steel blade, the popular liner-lock and SpeedSafe assist mechanism.
With its combination of modern design handy size, solid steel and functional design, the Kershaw Pushrod 1345 will be perfect as an outdoor knife and everyday tool.
Stainless steel
The Kershaw Pushrod 1345 is a handy folder with a functional design for everyday carry and light work.
The 76mm long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardenedto 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional style
The slim blade with a utilitarian spear-point profile has a striking BlackWash finish (black oxidation), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions to the blade from use.
Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, concave grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material being cut. Transverse frets made on the back of the blade allow the thumb to rest steadily while working.
The thickness of the wedge at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with a two-sided peg, allowing you to choose the method according to your preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the peg is leveraged or the flipper flipper is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Robust locking mechanism
A classic liner-lock, valued for its strength and ease of use, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The lock, like the flipper and peg, can be operated with one hand.
Carry clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a steel clip (non-transferable).
Modern handle
The Kershaw Pushrod 1345 has black G10 plastic liners. The glass-epoxy laminate used is characterized by light weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature change, as well as many acids and solvents.
The profiled shape of the grip and fine texturing makes the knife very secure in the hand, and its use is very comfortable. A hole has been made in the handle for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
