TheMossberg MVP Scout cal. 7.62mm/.308 Win is a shortened version of the repeater made according to the concept of Jeff Cooper, colonel of the US Army reconnaissance unit. The rifle can be fed with magazines from M14/SR 25 rifles.
Compact rifle
The length of the Mossberg MVP Scout carbine is only 952 mm, so the rifle is perfect for approach and group hunting.
The rifle has a lightweight polymer stock, so the bed is resistant to moisture, temperature change and mechanical damage. Unlike the classic wooden buttstock, the polymer does not require special maintenance.
Thanks to the Picatinny side rails, the user can mount additional shooting accessories on the weapon. A rubber foot is used at the end of the butt, which reduces the sensation of recoil and provides a stable point of support.
The rifle has classic steel buckles used for mounting a carrying belt. A long extended Picatinny rail is installed on the weapon, allowing the mounting of a running scope or collimator at a long distance from the eye.
Barrel with an exhaust brake
The MVP Scoutt rifle uses a 413 mm long barrel (med bull) terminating in an external thread, on which an exhaust brake is installed to reduce recoil and flame.
Thanks to the use of a rigid semi-heavy barrel, the rifle has excellent focus, so it will be great for both shooting and hunting. The short thread pitch (1:10) allows the use of heavy bullets.
The repeater has an adjustable LBA trigger mechanism, which allows the shooter to adjust the trigger parameters to his own preferences. The weapon is equipped with a spiral-twist four-barrel slide-and-twist lock.
The versatility of the carbine is highlighted by mechanical sighting instruments in the form of a sighting scope and fiber-optic musket.
The Mossberg MVP Scout is fed from a removable steel magazine with a capacity of 10 cartridges. The element that sets the repeater apart from others is its ability to be fed from M14/SR 25 magazines.
