Morale Patch M-Tac - vest, uniform and helmet patch.
During the Vietnam War, the ace of spades card (death card) was left on the bodies of dead Viet Cong soldiers, as part of psychological warfare aimed at creating fear and lowering enemy morale. Many soldiers also wore the ace of spades card on their helmet to show that they were tough warriors followed by death. The legend of this card also has an interesting historical background. The word spades (spade) is derived from the Latin "spatha" the term for a white weapon - once used for killing. "Spade" is also a spade - the main tool of every gravedigger.
