TheGlock 19 Generation IV 9 × 19 mm is an iconic self-reloading pistol that, despite the availability of Generation V, is favored by many shooters for its durability and the availability of a myriad of accessories and modifications.
Changes applied to the Glock gen 4:
- double spring return mechanism provides better control of the weapon when shooting dynamically
- interchangeable grip pads allow the grip capacity to be adjusted to the shooter's hand
- new handle texture for better grip
- enlarged magazine catch with the possibility of switching to the other side
The pistol has a polymer frame on which a steel lock is mounted. Thanks to the "Safe Action" system, the gun can be safely carried with a cartridge in the chamber. To ensure safe use, the gun uses up to 3 safety features:
- a lock in the trigger tongue
- internal firing pin lock
- semi-automatic firing pin tensioning mechanism

Safe Action prevents surrender of the shot until the trigger tongue is pulled all the way down. The safeties are automatically deactivated when the trigger is pulled in the following order: external trigger fuse, front firing pin lock and rear firing pin lock. In the situation of abandoning a shot, the gun is automatically secured when the trigger is incompletely pulled.
The Glock uses a simple trigger mechanism, which, with a little manual skill and knowledge of how the gun works, can be easily modified with a wide range of tuning kits and spare parts. The pistol is powered by a 17-round magazine with an easy-folding design. The 4th generation Glock 17 has a skeletonized rail for mounting accessories and a grip with a non-slip texture. The shooter can also adjust the size of the grip with interchangeable grip pads. The pistol is comfortable for both right- and left-handed shooters thanks to a flip-up magazine latch.
What shooters value older-generation Glocks for is their legendary durability and reliability, which is due to their polymer frame, the use of a reinforced bolt block and a polygonal barrel capable of firing dozens of rounds without a noticeable drop in accuracy.
