CPM S35VN and Drop Point head
The 78-millimeter-long Drop Point profile blade, with its pronounced curve of the blade belly and a ridge that gently slopes toward the tip, has a sturdy stab and good cutting qualities. This makes the Kershaw Heist an all-purpose knife for simple jobs around the house, garden out of town.
The blade is made of CPM-S35VN powder steel hardened to 60-62 HRC. Thanks to its high chromium content and a large amount of vanadium carbides, the blade has exceptionally good corrosion and wear resistance, and retains its sharpness for a very long time.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The blade is set on ball bearings, so the knife opens smoothly and provides a high culture of operation.
Kershaw Heist folding knife - thumb stud and double-sided locking mechanism
The folder can be opened with a double-sided thumb stud. The DuraLock lock, similar to the otherwise familiar Axis Lock, is also double-sided. The system is based on an omega-type spring and is secure. The lock is conveniently operated with the thumb.
Kershaw Heist folding knife - linings.
The Kershaw Heist folder uses steel liners with G10 laminate overlays. The gridded texture of the grip makes the knife secure and comfortable even in a wet or frozen hand.
