Timney Alpha Competition trigger - sporting trigger for Glock gen 5
Glocks are reliable and one of the most popular pistols in the world. That's why they are widely used by the military, law enforcement and civilian shooters. Despite their many undoubted advantages, Glock pistols in their factory version are not the best option for sport shooting. Nevertheless, many shooters use modified Glock pistols for sporting competition, having first replaced the trigger mechanism.
The factory Glock trigger of about 5 pounds is ideal for practical shooting, self-defense and duty applications. However, when you plan to actively participate in sporting competitions with your Glock and want to establish a dialogue with shooters using strictly sporting weapons, a lighter and faster trigger should be considered. The Timney Alpha Competition Glock Gen 5 is a drop-in trigger mechanism that transforms the Glock into a racegun. The Timney Alpha Competition Glock comes with a trigger rail with a straight trigger tongue, a newly designed trigger return spring (2 included) and an aluminum insert that is mounted in the factory trigger housing.
The NP3-coated (Teflon/nickel) trigger rail is responsible for reducing friction of steel components and smooth operation of the mechanism, thus increasing the operating culture and shooting comfort. Shortened trigger travel, light break and short and quick reset are factors that, regardless of the shooter's seniority, help in dynamic and precise shooting. In addition, the trigger tongue with a fuse with gently rounded edges has a flat surface, responsible for the even distribution of pressure.
Thanks to professionally prepared instructions, the installation of the Timney Alpha Competition Glock Gen 5 trigger is simple and can be handled by any Glock user familiar with its construction and disassembly. All the tools necessary for installation are, of course, included in the kit.
Note that the mechanism does not fit Glocks with single-order magazines and pistols in 10mm and .45 ACP calibers. The manufacturer recommends using Timney Alpha Competition triggers only during competitions.
