The original Primos Trigger Stick automatic pastorals deservedly enjoy a reputation among hunters for being practical and reliable. The latest, third generation has been equipped with a swivel head with an ergonomically contoured pistol grip, which allows for comfortable positioning of the hand supporting the weapon. Combined with the V-shaped, non-slip fork that encompasses the fore end of the bed, this gives the impression of handling the weapon as if it were equipped with a forward pistol grip.
The wide fork finished inside with soft rubber fins provides solid support regardless of the width and shape of the stock. Importantly, it does not cause any bumps or scratches on wooden settlements.
However, the biggest advantage of Primos Trigger Stick pastorals is the automatic (gravity) leg extension and ease of adjustment. The height can be adjusted with basically one hand, without taking your eyes off the game you're about to fold into. Specially shaped, eight-finger rubber leg ends ensure stable and secure spreading of the pastoral on both hard and slippery ground, reducing the risk of sinking or sliding. The independent spreading of each leg (applies to two- and three-legged) works especially well on uneven terrain. When the trigger is pressed, each leg automatically extends until it makes contact with the ground, releasing the trigger locks it at the appropriate height. Thus, the legs can be of different heights, so that the pastoral stands perfectly upright and stably supports the weapon in all conditions.
The two-legged pastoral provides very good vertical and horizontal stability. It is a compromise between weight and speed of unfolding and precision shooting. There is a reason why bipods of military sniper rifles have two legs. Unfolding is not cumbersome, and the rotating head allows smooth guidance of the moving target.
Regardless of the version, Primos Trigger Stick pastorals will be ideal for hunting from the approach to skittish game and wherever every second wasted in preparing for a shot can make a difference.
