TheWalther ERK Emergency Rescue Knife is an advanced rescue knife featuring a serrated blade, an emergency glass breaker, a seatbelt cutting blade and fluorescent inserts to make the knife more visible in the dark.
The knife uses a large (95mm) drop-point blade made of 440A stainless steel. The grade of steel used ensures high mechanical strength of the cutting edge, resistance to corrosion and chipping, and the possibility of quick sharpening with a standard sharpener.
The cutting edge is partially serrated, which is particularly important in emergency situations, as the rescuer is often forced to cut fibrous materials such as tape, clothing, ropes, etc. The use of a concave grind makes the cut very smooth, and the blade does not wedge in the material being cut. An enlarged disk is used to unfold the blade, which allows the knife to be operated also with gloves. Frets on the back of the blade act as a ramp for the thumb or index finger, making it easier to operate the knife.
The role of the lock is performed by the liner-lock mechanism, valued for its durability, simplicity and convenience of use. Responsible for the comfort and durability of the tool is the ergonomic handle, which is formed by rubberized lin ers and steel reinforcing inserts.
Fluorescent inserts were applied to the grip, glowing for a few seconds in the dark after prior exposure to light.
On board the knife are two important rescue tools, i.e. an emergency glass breaker and a special blade for safely cutting car belts.
We can use a nylon pouch or a steel clip to carry the knife on our belt.
Walther ERK Emergency Rescue Knife is a professional rescue knife that can save lives in an emergency situation.
