Active protection
The active protectors have built-in microphones to hear ambient sounds. When the safe level of 85dB is exceeded, an electronic circuit turns off the microphones and suppresses the noise at the same time. The protectors precisely protect against harmful impulse noise while providing very clear and crisp hearing of ambient sounds.
ThePeltor SportTac amplifies sounds below 85 dB, so you can hear better in the protectors than without them. A huge advantage is the ability to adjust the volume of sounds and conversations heard, depending on your needs and the situation. The use of an advanced electronic system eliminates the crackling that occurs in most shooting protectors on the market.
ThePeltor SportTac is equipped with a smooth sound reproduction system that prevents sudden drops in the level of sound heard. The protectors are powered by two AA batteries (mounted in one canopy), which provide up to 600 hours of use. An automatic battery-saving mode turns off the protectors after two hours when there is no activity. Theelectronic system remembers the last volume settings and notifies you of low battery levels.
Activation and volume adjustments are made using 3 large buttons. The Peltor SportTac ear protectors have a J22 audio input for connecting an external audio device such as a smartphone or mp3.
Construction
The lower part of the canopy is profiled, so the protectors do not interfere with shooting. Wide, replaceable cushions isolate noise very well, are nice to the skin, and can be easily kept clean.
Profiled bail with comfort pad, evenly distributes pressure on the head, so the protectors can be worn for a long time without feeling unpleasant pressure.
The protectors' expandable design makes it easy to adjust to the shooter's anatomy and fold up for transport. The set includes overlays in two color options.
