The diamond-coated inserts also make it possible to sharpen knives made of modern steels with a high degree of hardening, which a standard stone sharpener cannot handle. The whetstone consists of a sturdy polymer base equipped with a non-slip collar and a removable steel diamond-coated plate with gradations of medium 280 and fine 600.
The diamond coating is harder than sintered carbide, making the sharpening process quite easy and fast, and no water or oil is required.
