TheCZ 457 Varmint .22 LR is a precision shooting carbine equipped with a classic walnut stock, a thick-walled cold-forged barrel and a match-type cartridge chamber. Thanks to the applied improvements and precise design, the rifle allows to obtain a group of shot of only 15 mm at a distance of 50 m.
The CZ 457 Varmint carbine uses an American-style walnut stock with non-slip knurling applied to the profiled pistol grip and the front of the bed.
The carbine has a cold-forged, thick-walled 525mm barrel, which guarantees excellent repeatability and precision shooting, as well as great durability.
A new feature used in this carbine model is a firing pin tension indicator, which makes it easy to quickly check the status of the weapon. Another innovative solution is a convenient breech removal system, without the need to press the trigger tongue, which significantly speeds up the partial disassembly of the weapon.
In the CZ 457, the user also has the option of removing the breech and unloading the weapon on the activated safety.The CZ 457 family carbines use a new trigger mechanism, which allows adjustment of the trigger force from 8 to 15 N and the length of its path 0.5-7 mm.
The manufacturer has also modernized the design of the firing pin, the weight of which has been reduced by nearly 60%, resulting in a faster cluster and less shock after firing.
Users will also appreciate the significantly reduced angle of rotation (by 30°) of the reloading lever, which allows comfortable use with scopes with a large eyepiece or low mount.
All metal parts of the CZ 457 have an extremely durable anti-corrosion finish.
The carbine is fed from a removable magazine with a capacity of 5 cartridges. The rifle is not equipped with sighting instruments, but the user can mount the optic of his choice on an 11mm rail.
Standard buckles (two at the front) allow the user to attach a belt or bipod.
