TheOptima by Hatsan 80 STG 4.5mm is a powerful spring-loaded carbine for recreational shooting, featuring a polymer bed, precision threaded barrel, adjustable trigger mechanism and recoil reduction system.
The Optima by Hatsan Model 80 features a modern design, high accuracy and ergonomic design for comfortable use.
Manufactured by Turkish arms manufacturer Hatsan, the airguns have been popular among Polish sport shooters for years thanks to the capabilities they provide within their price range. The Optima by Hatsan brand offers the same excellent cost-to-quality ratio, which is a direct result of the solutions used in the manufacturing process. The manufacturer's tremendous capabilities allow it to manufacture every part in a single factory, so the windguns are made from scratch under the watchful eye of Hatsan specialists.
Polymer bed
The carbine's stock is made of durable polymer, which is resistant to mechanical damage, weather conditions and moisture. Maintenance and cleaning of the plastic bed is limited only to general cleanliness and occasional use of silicone oil.
The Monte Carlo-type symmetrical buttstock allows right- and left-handed shooters to comfortably assemble for shooting and use higher-mounted optics. The pistol grip and the bed feature slanted fluting, which increases grip and improves the carbine's grip.
The recoil energy is effectively reduced by a ventilated rubber foot, which is also responsible for a stable point of support.
Classic loading
Thespring is tensioned by classic "barrel break", a method most often used in spring-loaded windcheaters due to its convenient and simple operation. The Optima by Hatsan 80 STG 4.5mm shoots diabolo shot in 4.5mm caliber, loaded directly into the barrel. The polymer dummy suppressor with non-slip milling significantly facilitates barrel break and spring tension, most noticeable during long shooting.
Precision and long range
The 450mm threaded barrel is responsible for the accuracy and repeatability of the shots, thanks to which we can achieve repeatable focus after just a short training session. The fired shotgun reaches a maximum initial velocity of up to 305 m/s (~16 J), so we can also shoot accurately from the carbine at longer distances.
SAS recoil reduction system
The carbine uses the patented SAS (Shock Absorber System) mechanism, which absorbs a significant part of the energy that accompanies the firing of the windgun. The SAS system increases the comfort of use, extends the life of the internal mechanisms and protects the optics from shocks.
Adjustable trigger mechanism
One of the most important elements of a weapon affecting its accuracy is, of course, the trigger mechanism. In the Optima by Hatsan 80 STG 4.5mm model, the manufacturer used an adjustable two-stage trigger, allowing the shooter to individually adjust the length of the initial travel and resistance. The wide range of adjustment increases control over the shot, affects accuracy and shooting comfort.
Automatic safety
In shooting, the most important thing is safety, so when the spring is stretched ("breaking the barrel"), the fuse is automatically activated, which prevents the firing of an uncontrolled shot. Before firing, you should always turn off the safety, which is conveniently located in the rear of the piston chamber. This affects the extremely easy unlocking of the carbine, which can be done even without interfering with the aiming process.
Fiber-optic sighting instruments
The carbine has been equipped with good quality fiber-optic targeting instruments, i.e. a fixed bow tie and a vertically and horizontally adjustable sights. The fiber-optic rods with contrasting (green-red) colors, significantly speed up the alignment of the bow tie and the pincer, and thanks to high light absorption, also allow shooting in low or residual light, for example, after dark.
If you want to try your hand at shooting at longer distances, you can also mount an optical sight of your choice on the 11mm rail. The rail has holes for a stop pin, eliminating the "loss of zero" problem.
