The Vortex QR 1/3 co-witness elevation for the Venom coll imator allows the sight to be mounted on an AR-15 rifle.
The use of the high elevation allows the collimator to be installed at 1/3 co-witness to the mechanical sighting instruments. Aiming through the collimator, the aiming point is 1/3 higher relative to the sighting instruments.
Aiming through the mechanical instruments, the collimator dot can be aligned with the bowtie and the rifle's jaw, which is a much better solution for weapons equipped with spare aiming instruments ( e.g. BUIS).
The elevation has a QR-locking quick-mount system, which allows you to put on and remove the sight in no time.
