TheKershaw Method 1170 is a small "gentleman's folder" knife, combining elegant style by Jens Anso, proven materials and functionality of Kershaw products.
The Kershaw Method 1170 is a knife designed for those looking for a discreet and functional edc tool that can handle the daily tasks of the urban jungle.
Proven steel
The 76mm long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Sharp as a razor
The slim blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile has an eye-catching BlackWash finish (black oxidation), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions to the blade incurred during use.
Thanks to the use of a very aggressive hilt, concave grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties and penetrates easily.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The blade is unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper, a solution convenient for both right- and left-handed users. Two KVT ball bearings are installed on the axis of the head, thanks to which the blade opens very smoothly and dynamically.
The ball-bearing head, combined with the extremely funckojnal flipper, makes everyday use of the knife a pure pleasure.
Blade lock
When the blade is unfolded, it is securely locked by a liner-lock mechanism. The steel locking bar provides a high level of security, and its operation is very intuitive and convenient. A reliable lock is an important element calling for the functionality and safety of the folding knife.
Secure grip
The knife's handle is formed by 3D-made facings made of black G10 composite. The glass-epoxy laminate used is characterized by light weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature change, as well as many acids and solvents.
The profiled shape of the grip, the finger undercut and the fine non-slip checkering make this small knife very secure in the hand and comfortable for everyday use.
Carry clip
Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by a spring-loaded clip with no flip-over option. The custom backspacer by Jens has a clip protruding from the handle for attaching a lanyard or decorative paracord braid, which are very popular among most knife owners.
