TheKershaw Cryo 1555TI is a popular edc knife that was developed in collaboration with renowned knife designer Rick Hinderer.
The Kershaw Cryo is an award-winning folding knife that has taken the edc knife market by storm, enjoying enduring popularity among knife enthusiasts.
Proven steel
TheKershaw Cryo was created with everyday use and outdoor use in mind, which is clearly emphasized by its optimal size, solid construction and typically functional style.
The 70mmlong blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional blade
The short blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile is coated with ceramic titanium nitride coating, which provides protection from weather, salt water, has exceptional hardness and corrosion resistance, as well as chemical stability (it does not change color over time).
Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, concave grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material being cut.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work. Transverse milling cutters made on the back of the wedge allow stable support of the fingers during work.
Comfort of use
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with the help of a milled flipper or with the use of a two-sided peg, thus allowing you to choose the method according to your preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper flipper is pressed or the peg is leveraged, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Robust locking mechanism
A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects against accidental folding of the blade. The locking bar has a stop that prevents deformation and its excessive outward extension. The lock, like the flipper and peg, can be operated with one hand.
Carrying clip
Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by a high-set clip, with the ability to attach in 4 positions (up/down, right/left). There is also a hole on the handle designed for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
Simple and stylish
The knife's handle is made up of 410 stainless steel facings, gently contoured to the hand. A carbon-titanium protective coating is used to protect the grip similarly to the blade, giving the knife a very modern design.
