TheKershaw Gravel 2065 is a compact edc knife that features an 8Cr13MoV steel blade, a blade assist mechanism and a sturdy frame-lock.
TheGravel 2065 combines all the elements that should be found in a true edc knife: functionality, safety and durability.
Proven steel
The84mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Useful blade
Thewide blade has a reverse tanto profile, with a distinctly raised false blade that gives it a shark-like shape.
Thanks to the use of a sharp hilt, concave grind and a cutting edge with a strong curve, the blade is durable, penetrates well and provides efficient cutting.
The back of the ridge has been slightly notched, creating a place for the finger to rest during precision cutting.
An additional point of support is provided by transverse cut ters at the base of the spine. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
The blade and handle have a BlackWash finish. The black oxidation gives a striking appearance and partially protects against scratches from use.
Comfort of use
The blade can be quickly and conveniently unfolded with one hand using a flipper/flipper. The action takes place in a very natural and easy way and allows both right and left-handed people to use the knife comfortably.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper flipper is pressed or the peg is leveraged, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Robust locking mechanism
A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The lock, like the flipper and peg, can be operated with one hand.
Simple and stylish
The knife's handle is formed by smooth stainless steel facings. The manufacturer has dispensed with milling and texturing of the handle. The element that provides a stable grip is the cutout for the index finger and the flipper, which, when the blade is unfolded, acts as a hilt.
The black styling of the knife provides a modern and striking look. Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by a spring clip, with the ability to attach in 2 positions (left and right).
There is also a hole in the handle designed for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
