TheKershaw Chill 3410 is a very lightweight, minimalist edc folder, designed in collaboration with popular knifemaker RJ Martin, who has been creating excellent utility knives for many years.
Proven steel
Theslim 79mm long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The 8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Theknife has a slim blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile, finished with a sandblasting method, which does a good job of masking minor scratches and abrasions caused by use. A section of the back of the blade (at the base) has been raised, allowing the thumb to rest comfortably while working.
The knife owes itsgood cutting properties and excellent penetration to the use of an aggressive hilt, a high concave grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve.
Comfort of use
The blade can be instantly unfolded with one hand by means of an enlarged flipper, just a vigorous press of the flipper and the knife is ready for use. This simple solution is convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allows the knife to be operated comfortably with gloves.
Robust and safe
When the blade is unfolded, it is securely locked with a liner-lock mechanism. The steel locking bar provides a high level of safety, and its operation is very intuitive and convenient. A reliable lock is an important element calling for the functionality and safety of the folding knife.
Carrying clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a standard steel clip with the possibility of fixing in 2 positions (up/down).
Comfortable grip
The knife's handle is formed by black G10 laminate facings. The glass-epoxy laminate used is characterized by light weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature change, as well as many acids and solvents.
The profiled shape of the grip, finger undercut and fine checkering make the knife very secure in the hand and comfortable to use. The knife's handle is slim and narrow, making the daily carrying of the knife in your pocket virtually imperceptible.
A hole has been made in the handle for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
