TheKershaw Flitch 3930 is a versatile edc knife that uses 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, a blade assist mechanism, contoured FRN lin ers and the proven liner-lock.
The Kershaw Flitch 3930 will be an excellent choice for those looking for a rugged and durable knife for outdoor and everyday use.
Proven steel
The 83mm long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional blade
The profile of the blade can be described as a modified drop-point version, with a strongly raised ridge and prominent finger milling. The massive 3mm thick blade also makes the knife useful for light field work or as a back-up survival knife.
Oval cutouts in the blade reduce its weight and allow the blade to be unfolded with the thumb. Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, concave grind and a distinctly rounded cutting edge, the knife has good cutting properties and its sharpening does not pose a problem.
The head has a very practical so-called stonewashed finish, which is done by bathing the head in gravel or small abrasive stones. The resulting irregular texture masks scratches and abrasions from use very well.
Comfort of use
The blade can be quickly and conveniently unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper. The action takes place in a very natural and easy way and allows both right- and left-handed people to use the knife comfortably.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper blade is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Blade lock
When the blade is unfolded, it is securely locked with a liner-lock mechanism. The steel locking bar provides a high level of security, and its operation is very intuitive and convenient. A reliable lock is an important element calling for the functionality and safety of the folding knife.
Ergonomic grip
Theknife has liners made of tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon. The wide grip, deep finger cutouts and fine checkering make the knife very secure and safe in the hand. The stiffness and strength of the knife are responsible for the steel reinforcing inserts, to which the polyamide facings are attached.
Everyday carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a standard clip, with the possibility of attachment in 2 positions (left/right side).
