TheKershaw Kershaw Fringe 8310 is a modern edc knife that uses 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, a blade assist mechanism, carbon fiber-enriched steel liners and a strong frame-lock.
Proven steel
The 76mm long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional blade
Theknife has a slim blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile, with a pronounced false blade and a milled thumb ramp. Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, concave grind and a distinctly rounded cutting edge, the knife has good cutting properties, and its sharpening does not pose a problem.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday use.
The entire blade is covered with a ceramic coating of titanium nitride, which provides protection against weather, salt water, has exceptional hardness and corrosion resistance, as well as chemical stability (it does not change color over time).
Quick unfolding
The wedge can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with a double-sided peg, allowing us to choose the method according to our preferences. Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper blade is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Blade lock
The integrated frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The lock, like the flipper, can be operated with one hand.
Elegant grip
The stainless steel facings have undergone decorative milling along the entire perimeter, which provides a striking look and improves the knife's grip. A carbon-titanium coating is used to protect the grip, as well as the blade, giving the knife a very modern design.
An eye-catching element for knife enthusiasts is the decorative carbon fiber inlay, which adds an elegant touch and perfectly matches the color scheme of the blade. In the back of the handle there is a hole that allows you to attach a rope or paracord braid.
Everyday carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible bya standard clip, with the possibility of attachment in 2 positions (left/right side).
