TheKershaw Barricade 8650 is a folding rescue knife that uses 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, an assisted blade unfolding mechanism, molded FRN liners, as well as a rope and safety belt cutting blade and an emergency glass breaker.
Proven steel
The 89mm-long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel, hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional blade
The massive drop-point blade with a thickness of 2.5 mm means that the knife will not let you down during everyday work. Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, concave grind and a distinctly rounded cutting edge, the knife has good cutting properties, and its sharpening does not pose a problem.
The blade is coated with a layer of black oxide, which partially protects the blade from scratches and gives it a modern look.
Comfort of use
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with the help of a milled flipper or with the use of a double-sided peg, thus allowing us to choose the method according to our preferences.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper flipper is pressed or the peg is leveraged, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Blade lock
When the blade is unfolded, it is securely locked with a liner-lock mechanism. The steel locking bar provides a high level of security, and its operation is very intuitive and convenient. A reliable lock is an important element calling for the functionality and safety of the folding knife.
Ergonomic grip
Theknife has liners made of tough fiberglass-reinforced nylon. The wide grip, deep undercut for the index finger and fine texturing make the knife very secure and safe in the hand.
Responsible for the stiffness and strength of the knife are steel reinforcing inserts, to which the polyamide facings are attached. Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a high-set clip, with the possibility of fastening in 2 positions (right/left).
Rescue extras
Theknife is equipped with additional rescue tools in the form of a glass breaker (tungsten carbide tip) and a multifunctional chisel that allows quick cutting of clothing, safety belts and rope.
