TheCZ 457 Thumbhole .22 LR is a sporting carbine for recreational shooting equipped with a laminated walnut stock, a floating barrel with compensator and a match type cartridge chamber.
Ergonomic stock
This carbine employs an ergonomic thumbhole-bed with a textured pistol grip and thumb space. The thumbhole bed provides better control and stabilization of the rifle when shooting in a seated or overhead stance.
The shape of the grip and the butt are modeled after the models of high-performance sporting rifles used by Olympic shooters.
Floating barrel
The carbine has a cold-forged floating barrel with a length of 510 mm, which guarantees excellent repeatability and precision shooting, as well as great durability. A compensator is used at the end of the barrel to improve accuracy and reduce recoil to an imperceptible level.

Modern solutions
A new feature used in the CZ 457 series is the firing pin tension indicator, which makes it easier to quickly check the status of the weapon. Another innovative solution is a convenient breech removal system, without having to press the trigger tongue, which significantly speeds up the partial disassembly of the weapon.
In the CZ 457, the user also has the option of removing the breech and unloading the weapon on the activated safety. The carbine uses a new trigger mechanism, which allows adjustment of the trigger force from 8 to 15 N and the length of its path 0.5-7 mm.
The manufacturer has also upgraded the design of the firing pin, the weight of which has been reduced by nearly 60%, resulting in a faster cluster and less shock after firing.
Users will also appreciate the significantly reduced angle of rotation (by 30°) of the reloading lever, which allows comfortable use of scopes with a large eyepiece or low mount. All metal parts of the CZ 457 have an extremely durable anti-corrosion finish.
Additional features
The carbine is powered by a removable magazine with a capacity of 5 cartridges. The rifle does not have mechanical sighting devices, but the user can mount the optic of his choice on a Picatinny rail.
Standard buckles allow attachment of a stabilizing belt or bipod.
