TheGerber Principle Bushcraft is a thoroughbred puuko-style camp knife that features a 420HC stainless steel drop point blade, a flat Scandinavian grind and a solid rubberized tang.
The Gerber Principle Bushcraft is a small fixed blade that was created with bushcraft and survival enthusiasts in mind. However, due to the typically utilitarian nature of the knife, the Gerber Principle Bushcraft will work well in almost any outdoor activity such as camping, fishing, hiking, trekking and hunting.
Stainless steel
The blade is made of tough 420HC stainless steel, which features increased carbon and chromium content for corrosion resistance and good hardenability comparable to AUS 6.
Due to its resistance to wear and corrosion, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, the 420HC steel blade will perform well in the field.
Rugged construction
The Gerber Principle Bushcraft is an outdoor knife with a fixed blade and a full-tang blade, meaning that the fixed was made from a single piece of steel.
Such a design, combined with a 3mm thick head, ensures the durability and strength of the tool, so the Gerber Principle Bushcraft can also be used for chopping wood, batoning and undermining.
Functional head
The head, which has an optimal working length (82 mm), has a usable drop-point profile and a traditional Scandinavian grind, featuring excellent cutting properties. The 90° flat back of the blade works well with a flint, making it easy to light a fire.
The Scandinavian grind has an additional advantage, its high cutting edge allows for easy and instinctive sharpening, so less experienced people can also cope with restoring sharpness.
Comfortable handle
The knife's handle is made up of rubberized facings, which are attached to the shaft with steel bushings. The non-slip texture of the rubber and aggressive contouring ensure a secure and comfortable grip on the knife.
There are 3 holes in the handle, which allow the knife to be mounted on a spar (creating an improvised spear) or wrapped with paracord for improved comfort.
Polymer sheath
To carry the knife, there is a polymer sheath with a MOLLE mount, allowing the knife to be attached to a belt or Molle system.
