TheLeupold VX-6HD 2-12x42 30mm CDS-ZL2 iR FireDot Duplex is an advanced optical sight designed for hunters and sport shooters, featuring the Twilight Max HD system, a low-profile CDS-ZL2 elevation knob that allows adjustments to match ammunition ballistics and distance, and an illuminated FireDot Duplex sight reticle.
Highlights of the VX-6HD series:
Twilight Light Max HD Management System:
- Unrivaled brightness even in the harshest conditions,
- Enhanced Twilight Efficiency,
- Enhances image brightness in low-light environments (approximately 30 minutes),
- Eliminates image blur and stray light reflections,
- Premium lenses provide edge-to-edge sharpness,
- enhances image depth and contrast.
Optional Custom Dial barrel system - when shooting at long range, eliminates the need to apply aiming point corrections (aiming over the target) due to distance, gravity and wind effects.
Lightweight and durable design - evenly disperses recoil energy.
Leupold Punisher durability tests - the scopes undergo rigorous testing on the Punisher simulation machine, during which they are subjected to 5000 recoil tests. The machine generates shocks with an energy 3× the recoil of a .308 rifle.
30/34 mm tube* - at longer distances provides a greater range of aiming reticle adjustment (*selected models).
Fast Focus - enlarged ring for changing magnification
Robust construction - the scope's sealed tube is 100% resistant to internal evaporation and weather conditions.
Guard-Ion coating - reduces dirt and water adhesion on the lenses and ensures high image sharpness.
Motion Sensor Technology (MST)* - the use of a motion sensor extends battery life (*selected models).
Illuminated Targeting Grid* - makes targeting faster and easier in low-light conditions (*selected models).
Pop-Up Rezero - prevents accidental change of settings and allows quick return to original settings.
Modern technologies
TheLeupold VX-6HD 2-12×42 30 mm CDS-ZL2 iR FireDot Duplex is a proven hunting-sports sight with a length of 317 mm and a weight of 558 g.
The scope has an aluminum (6061-T6) tube with a diameter of 30 mm, which, unlike the inch version, provides a much greater range of adjustment of the reticle settings of 70 MOA vertically and horizontally.
The eyepiece features a moleskin Fast Focus ring for quick and convenient magnification changes.
Thetube of the scope is filled with a patented mixture of gases (argon and krypton), which eliminates the effects of thermal shock, reduces the diffusion of gases inside the scope and completely eliminates the problem of internal lens evaporation.
The waterproofing technology used guarantees 100 percent weather resistance.
The scope underwent rigorous testing on the Punisher simulation machine, during which the scopes were subjected to 5,000 recoil endurance tests.
The machine generates shocks with an energy 3× greater than the recoil of a .308 rifle.
Dimensions
Perfectly bright and clear image
The American manufacturer Leupold places special emphasis on image quality and brightness.
The optical system uses premium lenses and the Twilight Light Max Management system responsible for high light transmission, and reducing stray light.
The visible image is bright and sharp from edge to edge and deep, so the scope can be used for hunting at dawn and dusk (adds about 30 minutes of light).
Premium lenses increase blue and red light transmission and balance colors to maximize contrast. Glare is offset with special mechanical structures and blackened lens edges.
The outer surfaces of the lenses are coated with a durable Guard-Ion coating, which effectively protects the optics from scratches and reduces water, dirt and fingerprint deposits.
The scope's high brightness, 5× magnification and wide field of view (from 19.10 to 10.20 m / 100 m) allow comfortable observation and long-distance shooting in difficult lighting conditions.
Illuminated target reticle
The scope uses the popular Duplex sighting reticle with an illuminated aiming point.
TheDuplex (30/30) crosshair, designed by Leupold in 1962, consists of 4 arms that transition to a "thin hair" in the center.
The clear, high-contrast reticle allows for both accurate and rapid shooting in a variety of lighting conditions.
The FireDot fiber-optic aiming point automatically moves the shooter's sight to the center of the reticle, making target entry quick and instinctive. Illumination adjustments (7 levels) are made using the side Push Button.
The first 3 settings are for use in low light conditions, the others for use in sunlight. The adjustment range allows comfortable operation regardless of lighting conditions and time of day.
MST Motion Sensor
Using Motion Sensor Technology (MST), the backlight goes to sleep (turns off) after 5 minutes of inactivity. Re-activating the dot illumination requires only moving the rifle.
This has the advantage of impressive battery life. The backlight control system also warns of low battery status (flickering of the sight), indicating that the battery needs to be replaced.
Locking barrels with a quick zeroing system
The scope uses a practical Pop-Up Rezero zeroing system (with the push of a button), which prevents accidental change of settings and enables instant return to the original settings without the need for additional tools.
Application of the lock Zero Lock system eliminates the possibility of accidentally changing the height settings while allowing a quick and precise return to zero.
The turrets are 1/4 MOA adjustable. The crosshair adjustment range is 70 MOA vertically and horizontally.
CDS system
The scope uses an innovativeCDS (Custom Dial System) that allows the shooter to adjust the parameters of the elevation barrel to match the distance and ballistics of specific ammunition.
CDS-ZL2 is a low-profile adjustment turret that prevents accidental changes in settings. The Zero Lock locking system provides easy one-button reset of settings.
Once the CDS is properly configured, after just a short training session, we can shoot accurately and reproducibly at long distances without the need to use an elevation table (changing the aiming point).
Zero guaranteed
To ensure stable zero holding, the erector system is constantly affected by a double progressive spring (30% stronger than a linear spring). Its task is to level the shock caused by the weapon's recoil and increase the life of internal components.
High accuracy in the manufacture of key components guarantees repeatable hits at various magnifications.
Accessories
A neoprene pouch and lens covers are included to protect the optic during transport and storage.
