Lightweight design
The air rifle has a modern design, inspired by the designs of modern firearms.
TheUmarex DX17 4.5mm is distinguished by its lightweight design, which is mainly made of durable polymer. The metal was used for the lock and the internal spring drive components. Thanks to this design, the gun weighs only 440 g and can be used comfortably by younger shooters and women.
The air rifle has a contoured grip, which was textured to improve grip. In the front part of the frame (under the barrel) there is a mounting rail, which allows the use of selected shooting accessories, such as a laser target pointer or flashlight.
As in firearms, there is a non-slip ribbing on the breech, which makes it easier to reload the airgun (tension the spring).
The Umarex DX17 4.5mm uses a mechanical sighting device consisting of a fixed scimitar and a fiber-optic musket, which makes aiming much faster and more comfortable.
Thetrigger mechanism's pinned locking mechanism allows you to secure the trigger mechanism when loading or carrying the airgun.
Spring drive
TheUmarex DX17 is a windcheater with a classic piston-spring drive, which has been valued for years for its simple operation, reliability and low operating costs.
UnlikeCO2-powered windcheaters, in a spring-loaded windcheater, by manually stretching the spring (pulling back the breech) we compress the air, which, when the trigger is pulled, ejects the shot in the direction of the target.
We tensionthe spring each time before shooting, but we do not incur the cost of buyingCO2 capsules and do not have to worry about running out of gas in the capsule. Spring-powered air rifles are also less sensitive to temperature, so we can also shoot with the Umarex DX17 during winter.
Two types of shot
The Umarex DX17 dispels the dilemmas of novice shooters who face the choice of a BB or diabolo shotgun. With the DX17, we can shoot both 4.46mm BB steel balls and lightweight 4.5mm diabolo shot, such as the Kvintor Tornado.
The air rifle has an integrated magazine for 15 BB's shot. The diabolo shot is loaded into the barrel using the included tool. The fired steel shot reaches a velocity of about 60 m/s, diabolo shot up to 55 m/s.
Such functionality makes the gun perfect for recreational shooting, for example, at cans and reactive targets or precision shooting with paper targets.
NOTE: The DX17 pistol works best with light Teflon Diabolo type shotgun shells (e.g. Kvintor Tornado) or steel BBs.
Itis not recommended to use classic Diabolo lead shot.
