THE EDGE autoSHARP is an innovative knife sharpener that automatically adjusts the sharpening angle to match your knife. AutoSHARP lets you sharpen and hone kitchen knives, EDC knives, cleavers and outdoor knives.
Simple design
The polymer body is resistant to mechanical damage and weather conditions. Thanks to its small size and low weight, you can bring the sharpener with you when you go camping, hunting or take part in other activities that call for a sharp knife. The sharpener is equipped with a non-slip base, a double-sided grip and a sharpening slot.
Auto adjustable sharpening angle
Unlike classic V-type sharpeners, autoSHARP incorporates sharpening rods at variable angles. This is achieved by using side springs where tungsten carbide abrasive plates rest. The sharpener automatically adapts to the cutting edge angle, which allows sharpening of various blades, including kitchen knives, pocket knives, EDC folding knives, outdoor knives and cleavers.
Many knife users do not know the original cutting edge angle of their knife, and that’s where autoSHARP comes in handy, providing a solution and allowing quick and easy sharpening of a dull blade. The sharpener can also be used to sharpen serrated knives, which usually requires a special sharpener.
Sharpening and honing
THE EDGE autoSHARP is a functional sharpener that lets you repair, sharpen and hone a dull knife. Pre-sharpening is done by placing the blade in the sharpening slot (with the tip pointing down) and swiping the knife back and forth until the blade is sharp.
The angle between the knife’s handle and the sharpener base should be between 15 and 45°. Honing is done in a similar manner, except the tip of the blade should be pointing upwards. The recommended angle between the blade and the sharpener base is between 15 and 45°. Knives with serrated blades should be positioned parallel to the ground while honing and sharpening (without tilting the blade upwards or downwards).
