TheKershaw Coilover 1348 is a budget edc folder from the Starter Series, featuring an 8Cr13Mov stainless steel blade, liner-lock and lightweight FRN plastic liners.
With its combination of modern design handy size, solid steel and functional design, the Coilover 1348 is perfect for use as an edc knife or outdoor tool.
Stainless steel
The Kershaw Coilover 1348 was created for everyday use and light work, which is clearly emphasized by its optimal size, solid construction and typically functional style.
The 76mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardenedto 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional style
Theslim blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile has a uniform stonewashed matte finish, which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions to the blade from use.
Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, concave grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material being cut.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The wedge can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with a two-sided peg, allowing you to choose the method according to your preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
Robust locking mechanism
A liner-lock, valued for its strength and ease of use, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding.
Carry clip
Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a high-set clip (not repositionable).
Modern handle
The knife's handle is formed by facings made of lightweight FRN (fiberglass-reinforced nylon) plastic. This material is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature change, as well as to many acids and solvents.
The profiled shape of the grip and the scalloped milling makes the knife very secure in the hand, and its use is very comfortable. A hole has been made in the handle for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
