With its combination of modern design handy size, sturdy steel and functional design, the Kershaw Kershaw Shroud 1349 is perfect for use as both a typical edc knife and an elegant "gentleman's folder".
Stainless steel
TheKershaw Shroud 1349 was created with everyday use and light work inmind, which is clearly emphasized by its optimal size, solid construction and typically functional style.
The 82mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardenedto 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional style
Theslim blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile has a matte sandblasted finish for an elegant look.
Thanks to the use of a sturdy stock, a flat grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material being cut.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the strength and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The wedge can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with a two-sided peg, allowing you to choose the method according to your preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the peg is leveraged or the flipper flipper is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Robust locking mechanism
A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The lock, like the flipper and peg, can be operated with one hand.
Carry clip
Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by the high-set clip (which cannot be repositioned). There is also a hole on the handle designed for attaching a decorative paracord braid, which are very popular among most knife owners.
Modern handle
The knife has straight stainless steel facings, which have a contoured shape and fine frets to increase hand grip. The sandblasted finish gives the entire knife design a modern and lightweight style.
