TheFenix E12 V2.0 is a pocket-sized EDC flashlight that, after the upgrade, emits 160 lumens, has 3 light modes , a longer range, a two-position clip and a cost-effective driver with no standby current.
Lightweight and durable
The body of the Fenix E1 V2.0 flashlight is made of hardened aluminum, subjected to the HA-III hard anodizing process, making the flashlight's barrel and head resistant to scratches, abrasion and mechanical damage.
Having reduced the flashlight's dimensions by 12 mm, it is more manageable and comfortable to use. After the upgrade, the flashlight weighs only 27 grams, which is as much as a popular stick battery.
The milled surface of the aluminum improves grip and prevents the flashlight from slipping from the hand. Activating the flashlight and changing modes is done in the traditional way, using the rear switch.
Harder and farther
The light source is a powerful Match CA18 cold-color LED, which in high mode emits a stream of 160 lumens with a brightness of 1133 candelas and a range of 68 meters. The light is evenly and widely dispersed (86°) thanks to an ultra-thin collimating lens.
Operating modes
The user has 3 light modes: low, medium and high. In high mode, the flashlight can operate for up to 60 minutes, in low mode 5 lumens for up to 70 hours!
The illumination with a flux of 5 lumens is enough to discreetly illuminate the inside of a purse, toolbox or open a door lock.
Power supply - lightweight and easily accessible
The flashlight is powered by a single AA alkaline battery, which can also be replaced by a rechargeable Ni-MH battery. The advantage of such a power supply is its easy availability, low cost, and the unnoticeable weight of the flashlight.
The flashlight's long runtime is due to the use of a driver that does not consume standby power.
Rotary switch
The flashlightis activated and modes are changed using the rear switch. The Fenix E12 V2.0 has an alternative mode for changing brightness, operated by a rotating head. Regardless of the method, the flashlight can be operated comfortably with one hand even in total darkness.
The minimalist interface makes the flashlight ideal for everyday use, where we usually just need quick access to light.
Two-position clip
The functionality of the E12 V2.0 is greatly enhanced by a two-position clip, which allows us to attach the flashlight to the visor of a cap and use it as a headlamp.
Security features
The flashlight uses a driver with linear operating characteristics. This means that the flashlight when the battery voltage drops automatically reduces the flux (reduces the mode). Thus, the flashlight will operate normally until the battery is completely depleted.
Thehigh protection class IP68 makes the flashlight resistant to total immersion in water (to a depth of 2 m), dust and dirt, as well as falling.
TheFenix E12 V2.0 is a lightweight and handy flashlight with an efficient light output, which is great for everyday use, as part of edc gear or as a backup flashlight.
The parameters shown were obtained under laboratory conditions. Pairdeer alkaline batteries were used during testing.
