TheMil-Tec Engineer black compass is a classic military compass for determining azimuth and reading directions.
Rugged construction
The Mil-Tec Engineer compass has a sturdy body made of reinforced plastic. When carrying the compass, the targeting instruments are protected by the case. The compass will not be accidentally opened thanks to a snap locking latch.
The locking latch also serves as a lanyard or rope attachment.
Precise direction finding
The compass uses a bearing-mounted dial with an integrated Powet Magnet needle. The contrasting dial and north marking with a reflective symbol allow the compass directions to be read in the dark. The dial uses 360° and 64° gradu ations with a classic wind rose.
A magnifying glass and quarter markings on the windshield make it easier to read the scale and determine the intermediate direction.
The aiming instruments, i.e., the bow tie and the scimitar with magnifying glass in the base, allow precise direction determination and facilitate azimuth reading. The compass, of course, has a rotating ring necessary for determining azimuth values in the field.
