TheZero Tolerance ZT 0462 is a designer knife for everyday use, featuring a CPM-20CV steel blade, titanium and carbon fiber liners, and a KVT-bearing assist.
The design of the ZT 0462 is inspired by Dmitry Sinkevich's custom knife Polychotky Jr, which attracted attention with its slim, upward curved blade and ergonomic handle with an arched profile.
Premium steel
The 83mm long blade is made of CPM-S20V powder steel hardened to a hardness of 59-61 HRC. CPM-S20V is an American "super steel" whose parameters correspond to Bohler's elite M390 stainless steel.
Thanks to its high chromium content and a large amount of vanadium carbides, the steel is characterized by exceptionally good corrosion and wear resistance, and very long retention of sharpness.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
Original head
The slender head with a trailing point profile has an elegant satin finish. Thanks to the strongly marked curvature of the blade and the use of a flat grind, the knife has outstanding cutting properties.
The stab, despite its location above the back line, provides excellent penetration. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Comfort of use
The blade is unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper, a solution convenient for both right- and left-handed users. KVT ball bearings are installed on the axis of the head, thanks to which the blade runs smoothly and lightly during unfolding.
Work safety
The titanium frame-lock, equipped with a hardened steel insert to counteract titanium abrasion, effectively protects against accidental folding of the head.
Frame-lock is a solid lock considered one of the most durable locking mechanisms, characterized by resistance to dirt and very comfortable operation.
Ultralight handle
The knife has ergonomic liners made of brown-black carbon fiber and sandblasted titanium. The characteristic curved-profile (raised upward) facings are somehow a counter to the head with a distinctly convex belly.
The edges of the titanium facings have been machine-milled with bevelled milling, improving grip and giving an elegant appearance. All edges have been perfectly finished, emphasizing the high class of the knife.
The protruding spacer (backspacer) has cross ribbing, improving the knife's grip and grip. Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a high-set clip (one-sided) protected by a Teflon coating.
