TheVortex Recon R/T 15 × 50 is an armored tactical monocular designed for observing and estimating distances to a target, featuring low dispersion glass lenses, anti-reflective XR coatings and an MRAD target reticle.

Armored construction
The tube of the monocular is covered with rubber armor, thus guaranteeing resistance to mechanical damage and weather conditions. The scope weighs only 431 g, making it handy and convenient to carry. Precision sealing and filling the optics with argon, completely eliminates the problem of internal lens evaporation and ensures resistance to rain, snow and water immersion. A hard Armortek coating was applied to the outer lenses to protect them from scratches and dirt. This design means that the monocular can be safely used in all weather conditions without fear of damaging the optics. The Recon R/T is equipped with a metal clip, a nylon handgrip and a standard 1/4 20 socket allowing the scope to be mounted on a tripod. Thanks to such solutions, the spotting scope can be carried (on a belt, vest or gear) and conduct comfortable observation.
Clear and bright image
The Vortex Recon R/T uses XD lenses, which guarantee high resolution, edge-to-edge sharpness, accurate color reproduction and a bright image free of distortion due to chromatic aberration.
XD lenses are made of glass with a low dispersion coefficient, which contributes to excellent resolution and contrast. Another advantage of this type of glass is its relatively low density, making the optics lighter. XR multi-layer anti-reflective coatings have been applied to all air-to-glass surfaces, the result is very bright and clear vision of the target.
Estimating the distance to the target
The monocular uses a sighting reticle with MRAD scales and silhouettes of 4 sizes, so we can easily estimate the distance to a target of known size.
