THE EDGE proSHARP 240 grit diamond plate is designed for THE EDGE proSHARP 10-30° sharpening system but can also be used as a stand-alone sharpening stone. 240 grit is recommended for rough sharpening, repair and angle (or shape) change of the cutting edge.
Diamond sharpeners are perfect for sharpening knives with tempered steel blades (CPM-S30V, M390, D2 etc).
Diamond is tougher than tungsten carbide, so the sharpening process is fast and easy, however, it should be noted that metal removal is very fast with diamond sharpening stones.
Note: Do not apply a lot of pressure while sharpening the blade. The weight of the slide (in the sharpening system) or the weight of the knife itself (when using the plate as a stand-alone sharpener) is enough. Clean the plate in warm water with some mild detergent using a nylon brush.
The Edge proSHARP series diamond plates are available in following grits:
- 240 to repair and reshape the cutting edge,
- 600 to sharpen the blade,
- 1000 to hone the blade and quickly sharpen a slightly dull cutting edge.
