TheKershaw 1368 is a budget edc folder that features an 8Cr13Mov stainless steel blade, the proven frame-lock and SpeedSafe assist mechanism.
With its combination of modern design handy size, sturdy steel and functional design, the Kershaw 1368 is perfect for a typical edc knife.
Stainless steel
TheKershaw 1368 wascreated for everyday use and light camp work, which is clearly emphasized by its size, solid construction and typically functional style.
The 85mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardenedto 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6.
The8Cr13MoV steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Functional style
The blade, with a utilitarian sheep footprofile , is finished using a stonewashed (abrasive stone bath) method, which perfectly masks any scratches and abrasions from use.
Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, concave grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material being cut.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.4 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with a two-sided peg, allowing you to choose the method according to your preferences. Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable operation of the knife with gloves.
Assist mechanism for unfolding the blade
The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the peg is leveraged or the flipper flipper is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Robust locking mechanism
A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The lock, like the flipper and peg, can be operated with one hand.
Carry clip
Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by a steel clip (non-transferable). There is also a hole on the handle for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
Modern handle
The knife has straight stainless steel facings, which have a contoured shape and beveled frets to increase hand grip. The sandblasted finish gives the entire knife design a modern and lightweight style.
