TheBenchmade 9051SBK AFO II is a large knife for uniformed services, featuring a partially serrated CPM 154 stainless steel blade, an enlarged deployment and solid anodized aluminum liners.
Tool steel
The knife has a slim 90mm-long blade made of hard 154CM tool steel, hardened to a hardness of 58-61 HRC. 154CM is a high-carbon stainless steel enriched with molybdenum, so it can be described as an improved version of 440C.
American 154CM steel is valued for its resistance to corrosion and wear (high impact strength), long maintenance of working sharpness and relative ease of sharpening.
Utility head
The utilitarian drop-point profile blade is coated with a layer of black Teflon, which protects against minor scratches and emphasizes the tactical nature of the knife. The knife has a clearly marked blade belly and a strong hilt. A head with such a profile is an excellent choice for those looking for a knife with very good cutting properties and a sturdy tip. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3.1 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Combo blade

Instant unfolding
The main advantage of this knife, is the comfortable and fast unfolding system. Unlike models with an assisted head, in an knife, unfolding the blade requires only pressing, which is responsible for releasing the lock and activating the internal spring.
Folding the blade requires pressing the again and manually retracting the blade. Such functionality makes it very popular among soldiers, uniformed service personnel and edc enthusiasts.
The release is embedded in a milled cutout, so it does not protrude above the handle. The enlarged activation allows you to comfortably operate the knife with tactical gloves.
The knife uses a 30% strengthened locking mechanism, which prevents accidental pressing of the activation and folding of the blade. The slide of the second safety mechanism is located on the back of the handle.
Ergonomic grip
The knife has solid facings made of anodized aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum forming a monolithic unit with the backspacer. Thanks to precision 3D machining, the handle has a striking design and good grip, which is provided by deep milling and ergonomic shape.
The black anodized coating is resistant to fading, scratching and abrasion, which guarantees the knife's attractive appearance for a long time. The back of the handle has a hole useful for attaching a rope or paracord braid.
The spacer (backspacer) has an open design for easy cleaning of the knife.
Discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by a standard clip with the possibility of attachment in 4 positions.
Molle sheath
To carry the knife there is a nylon sheath fastened with a tension fastener, compatible with the Molle attachment system.
