TheRuger Targis Hunter 4.5mm is a modern spring-loaded carbine with a high initial velocity, featuring an integrated sound suppressor, an ergonomic polymer bed, an adjustable mechanism and a 3-9x×30 optical sight for longer range shooting.
Modern polymer bed
The carbine's stock is made of durable polymer with a matte finish, which is resistant to mechanical damage, weather conditions and moisture.
Maintenance and cleaning of the plastic bed is limited only to general cleanliness and occasional use of silicone oil.
The Monte Carlo-typesymmetrical buttstock allows right- and left-handed shooters to comfortably assemble for shooting and use higher-mounted optics.
The recoil after the shot is effectively absorbed thanks to the rubber foot, which is also responsible for a stable point of support in the shooting hole.
Fine knurling has been made on the separated pistol grip and the front of the bed, which improves hand grip and enhances the aesthetic qualities of the carbine.
Convenient loading
The spring is tensioned by the classic "barrel break", the method most often used in spring-loaded air rifles due to its convenient and simple operation. The Ruger Targis Hunter shoots diabolo shot in 4.5 mm caliber, loaded directly into the barrel.
This solution makes it possible to shoot any type of shotgun shell.
Quiet and comfortable
An aluminum sound supp ressor is installed at the end of the barrel, reducing the noise of the shot to a neutral level that does not affect concentration and shooting comfort.
The advantages of having a suppressor will be appreciated not only by the owners of the carbine, but also by other users with whom we shoot together.
Precision and long range
The accuracy and repeatability of the shots are the responsibility of the furrowed 381 mm barrel, and the adjustable trigger mechanism, so we can get a repeatable focus already after a short training.
Fired the shotgun reaches a high initial velocity of about 250 m/s (~16 J), so we can also shoot accurately from the carbine at longer distances.
The set also includes a simple 3-9×30 optical sight (with mounting), which was built to withstand the recoil of the carbine. Thanks to the sight, after just a short training session we can try our hand at shooting at a distance of up to 50 meters.
The sight is mounted on a Picatinny accessory rail.
Safety in the foreground
The most important thing in shooting is safety, so when the spring is pulled ("breaking the barrel"), the fuse is automatically activated, which makes it impossible to fire an uncontrolled shot.
Before firing, it is necessary to turn off the safety each time, which is conveniently located in front of the trigger tongue. This affects the extremely easy unlocking of the carbine, which can be done even without interfering with the aiming process.
Modern sighting instruments
The carbine has been equipped with good quality fiber-optic targeting instruments, i.e. a tunnelled musket and a vertically and horizontally adjustable scimitar.
The fiber-optic rods with contrasting (green-red) colors, thanks to their high light absorption, speed up the alignment of the bowtie and the pin cer.
