TheRuger Air Scout Kit 4.5mm is arecreational air rifle with abreak barrel that features a polymer stock, a 4 × 32 optical sight and adjustable fiber-optic targeting instruments.
Polymeric stock
The carbine's stock is made of durable polymer with a matte finish that is resistant to mechanical damage, weather conditions and wear. Maintenance and cleaning of the plastic bed is mainly limited to general cleanliness and occasional use of silicone oil.
The Monte Carlo-type symmetrical buttstock allows right- and left-handed shooters to comfortably assemble for shooting and use higher-mounted optics. A rubber foot attached to the butt nullifies recoil after shooting and provides a stable point of support. Fine fluting has been made on the isolated pistol grip and on the bed walls, which improves grip and gives the carbine a modern look.
Timeless classics
The carbine uses the popular spring-piston drive. The spring is tensioned by "breaking the barrel," a method most often used in spring-loaded air rifles because of its convenient and user-friendly operation. The Ruger Air Scout Kit 4.5mm shoots diabolo shot in 4.5mm caliber, loaded directly into the barrel. The carbine has a furrowed barrel with a length of 475 mm, which, when matched with the right shot, ensures good accuracy and repeatability of shots. The velocity of the fired shot is about 175 m/s, so the carbine can also be used to shoot at longer distances. The barrel is finished with a polymer dummy suppressor, which acts as a base for the musket, and a grip to facilitate the tensioning of the spring.
Automatic safety
In shooting, the most important thing is safety, so when the spring is tightened ("breaking the barrel"), the safety is automatically activated, which prevents the firing of an uncontrolled shot. Before firing, you should always turn off the safety, which is conveniently located at the rear of the piston chamber. This affects the extremely easy unlocking of the carbine, which can be done even without disturbing the aiming process.
Easy aiming
The carbine has been equipped with fiber-optic aiming instruments, i.e. a tunnelled bow-tie and a vertically and horizontally adjustable stock. The fiber-optic rods, with contrasting (green-red) colors, greatly speed up the alignment of the musket and the pincer.

If you want to try your hand at shooting at a longer distance, you can mount the included 4×32 optical sight (rings included) on the 11mm rail.
