The Umarex Patrol 4.5mm is a sniper rifle-style spring-loaded air rifle, which features a polymer thumb-hole stock, a 3-7 × 32 optical sight and a furrowed barrel with a dummy suppressor.
Polymerized housing
The military style of the air rifle is highlighted by an ergonomic thumb-hole buttstock, inspired by the British L96A1 select-fire rifle. The thumb-hole flask has an isolated pistol grip and open thumb space. It allows for a more secure grip on the carbine, reduces the weight of the stock and increases shooting comfort especially for those with small hands. Fine fluting has been made on the pistol grip and on the walls of the bed, which improves grip and gives the carbine a modern look.
The bed is made of durable polymer with a matte finish, which is resistant to mechanical damage, weather conditions and wear. Maintenance and cleaning of the plastic bed is mainly limited to general cleanliness and occasional use of silicone oil.
The flask with a symmetrical buttstock allows right- and left-handed shooters to comfortably assemble for shooting and use higher-mounted optics. A rubber foot attached to the butt nullifies recoil after shooting and provides a stable point of support.
Timeless classics
The carbine uses the popular spring-piston drive. The spring is tensioned by "breaking the barrel," a method most often used in spring-loaded windcheaters because of its convenient and user-friendly operation. The Umarex Patrol shoots diabolo shot in 4.5mm caliber, loaded directly into the barrel. The carbine has a furrowed barrel with a length of 435 mm, which, when the right shot is selected, ensures good accuracy and repeatability of shots. The velocity of the fired shot is about 175 m/s, so we can also shoot from the carbine at longer distances.
The inner barrel is protected by a polymer sheath resembling a suppressor, which, in addition to its decorative value, serves as a grip to facilitate spring tensioning.
Safety against shooting
The most important thing in shooting is safety, which is why the windcheater uses a manual safety, which allows you to lock the trigger mechanism when carrying the carbine or sharing it with another person. The fuse button is located at the back of the piston chamber for easy operation.
