TheWalther TFK 2 is a tactical-style pocket folding knife with a 440C stainless steel blade, back-lock and contoured G10 rubberized plastic liners.
Is it worth buying a stainless steel knife?
The blade of the knife is made of the popular 440C stainless steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. Thanks to its increased carbon content, the steel resists wear, retains its working sharpness for a long time, and sharpens relatively quickly and easily, which is important for an outdoor knife. The head is coated with a titanium protective coating, which further protects against corrosion and contrasts aesthetically with the wooden liners.
Functional blade
The knife has a short drop-point profile blade, with a half concave grind and a clearly marked belly of the cutting edge. The blade with this geometry is characterized by high strength and excellent cutting performance, which makes this type of blade often used in small edc and outdoor knives. A transverse milling has been made on the back, which allows you to rest your finger while working (thumb ramp).
Classic unfolding
The blade is unfolded in using two hands, with the help of a nail cutout. This classic solution has been used for decades in pocket knives, among others, and allows legal carry in most EU countries.
Strong locking mechanism
When unfolded, the blade is locked with a back-lock mechanism . When the blade is unfolded, the lock, located on the crest of the knife, collapses into a notch in the back of the blade. Releasing the locking mechanism requires pushing in the strip visible in the handle cutout.
Secure grip
The element responsible for the knife's comfort is the lightweight G10 plastic facings. This is a glass-epoxy laminate, which is characterized by low weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature change, as well as to many acids and solvents. The profiled shape of the lining and the aesthetic grooving make the knife fit securely and comfortably in the hand. The knife's nylon case can be conveniently carried on the belt.
