Premium steel
The 95mm long head was made of CPM-S20V powder steel hardened to 60-62 HRC. CPM-S20V is a "super-steel" that corresponds in parameters to Bohler's M390 stainless steel.
Thanks to its high chromium content and high amount of vanadium carbides, it is characterized by exceptionally good corrosion and wear resistance, and very long retention of sharpness.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The wide head with a utilitarian drop-point profile has a matte stonewashed finish, which effectively masks the blade's scratches and abrasions that occur during use. Thanks to the strong tip and flat grind, the blade has excellent penetration and very good cutting properties.
Thethickness of the blade at its widest point is as much as 4 mm, which guarantees a very high durability of the blade and allows it to be used for demanding operations.
On the back of the blade are applied transverse cutters, which create a very stable place of support for the thumb or index finger.
For the first time in the history of ZT, the blade was finished with the BlackWash oxidation technique, which was combined with the classic "tiger stripe" pattern.
Convenient unfolding
The blade is unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper, a solution convenient for both right- and left-handed users.
KVT ball bearings were installed on the axis of the head, thanks to which the blade runs very smoothly and dynamically, which every user will appreciate during everyday use.
The pivot screw with a custom nut allows you to adjust the pressure with a half-inch wrench. A monolithic frame-lock equipped with a hardened steel insert against titanium abrasion effectively protects against accidental folding of the head.
Frame-lock is a robust lock considered one of the most durable locking mechanisms, featuring dirt resistance and very comfortable operation.
Lightweight grip
The knife has titanium and G-10 laminate facings, with very aggressive texturing made with precision 3D technology. The ergonomically profiled handle fits perfectly in the hand, providing high comfort and an extremely secure grip, which is especially important for heavier work.
The clip, which can be screwed onto the right or left faceplate, has not been forgotten either. The clip is compatible with clips from other manufacturers, so the user can adjust this element to his own preferences.
There is a hole in the back of the handle for attaching the paracord braid.
